Isaac Hunter

Chairman with the Aorangi Awarua Trust, a position I have held for the past 10 Years.  I have been actively involved in a number of other land Trusts and I am also Chairman of the Porangahau A11 Trust.

My parents farmed at Opaea and it was at an early age of growing up on the family farm I learned to appreciate the cultural connection my ancestors had to the land.  I was educated at Te Aute College and took agriculture and animal husbandry as core subjects.

I am also actively involved in Treaty of Waitangi claims particularly those related to Kaimanawa and Rangipo Waiu Blocks in the Central Plateau. I am employed as Land Administration Officer with the Maori Trustee office in Whanganui
